Spring in Her Path
Such was the power of the beauty inside her that Winter turned to Spring in her path, and flowers grew in her footsteps ~ Edward Monkton
This delicate pullover, with it’s elegant central panel, is a warm weather sibling to Girl on Fire. Made with the same top-down construction, the set-in sleeves of Spring in Her Path are created simultaneously with the upper bodice (photo tutorial included). The intricate Floral Lace Panel at the center front adds elegance to the classic shape of this square-necked pullover.
Fit: Shaping is accomplished along princess lines to allow for maximum flexibility in modifying to your own fit preferences–make it with more or less shaping, or turn it into an A-line if you prefer.
The garment is intended to be worn with a bit of negative ease at the bust (an inch or so smaller than your bust measurement), but you can easily customize to have more ease. See the “Some Thoughts About Fit” for more information on knitting to suit your fit preferences and needs.
Yarn Choices: The floral lace pattern requires a yarn with excellent stitch definition to look it’s very best. For this reason, single ply yarns aren’t recommended (I swatched with a few, and the pattern looked like a hot mess). Choose a bouncy, plied, solid/semi-solid fingering weight yarn for best results.
